REUNION
July 31 - August 2

For those who cannot spare a full week, are no longer teaching or are retired but would like to remain "close to the fire", we have planned the reunion to coincide with the end of the other two courses, so that you will experience the culmination and exahilaration that always accompany the end of hard work and the resulting accomplishments.

A very special program is planned that will enable you to recharge your batteries, renew old friendships and hear beautiful music. There will be a reception Wednesday evening, July 31 in honor of all reunioners.

Three day reunioners may make their own programs as far as classes are concerned. Though you may not actively participate in class discussion or performance at this late stage of the course, you may visit any class you wish. Although you may not participate in the performance of the Mozart Requiem (unless you know it well, have performed it frequently or very recently and have Peter Erdei's permission), you may watch him prepare it in rehearsal and experience the final result.

Other unique features of the three days include:

  1. The opportunity to talk with Mrs. Kodály who will be visiting the final week.
  2. Recital by Marta Erdei, pianist: A graduate of the Liszt Academy in Budapest, Marta is now completing a DMA at Indiana University in Bloomington. She has performed as soloist with orchestra in various countries of Europe and has a budding U. S. career with solo and chamber music concerts in Virginia, Massachusetts, Chicago, and Washington D. C. She is currently teaching at the Royal Academy of Music in Dublin, Ireland.
  3. Discussion groups with master-teacher faculty.
  4. A scheduled session with selected graduates of KMTI, KCA or the Dana School of Music 1969 course and "the Pilot Class", who will present brief summaries of their activities and achievements since their graduation or attendance.
In this connection, we ask all who plan to attend to submit a brief biographical sketch of not more than 300 words, no later than April 1, 2002, which we hope to collate and present to you as a memento of the reunion celebration.
