ADVANCED REFRESHER COURSE
July 29 - August 2

This course is open to participants of Kodály programs nationwide with at least a level III ability in solfege. The course is based on the needs voiced by participants of recent KCA advanced refresher courses. Content of the course includes solfege, theory (harmony), form and analysis, conducting and choral materials. Methodology is not included because applicants, for the most part, have created their own methodological sequence and techniques as a result of previous training. However, an opportunity for those wishing to share materials will be provided, as well as a time when you may meet with Hungarian and American faculty.

Participants of this course will have an hour with Peter Erdei every day in order to join students of the three-week course in a performance of the Mozart Requiem with orchestra the final night of the course.

Two Capital University credits may be earned for this course.

Please note, reunioners only: whether you are attending for three weeks, one week, or three days only, you may make your own programs and may concentrate on what intetests you most (as long as you do not wish to receive credit), including observation of the Children's Choral Institute. However, participants electing a particular emphasis are asked to stay with the specific program thay have chosen (both the three week and one week courses) rather than jumping from one level to another, in order not to disturb regular certification participants. Sticking to the program chosen will assure continuity and a real learning experience.
