| KCA ALUMNAE/I |
|
Many KMTI and KCA alumnae/i are among the leaders of the Kodály movement today as role models of excellent teaching; as choir directors of professional, semi-professional and student choirs of all ages; as clinicians for Kodály workshops nation-wide; and as researchers, authors, composers and folk music collectors. |
|
This fact was increasingly obvious to Denise Bacon in the spring of 2002, when she contacted alumnae/i with a request for short biographies to be included in a memento booklet for those attending the KCA/KMTI 25th Anniversary Summer Course and Reunion. At least 25 alumnae/i who would have liked to attend this event were unable to do so because of date conflicts with other Kodály courses they were teaching! She asked them to send bios anyway, so that classmates and friends could know what had happened to them in the intervening years. Several agreed to do so, but only 50 arrived in time to be printed for the booklet. A few more were received following the reunion. Denise Bacon was so inspired by what she read or heard in the letter and phone conversations that she concluded the accomplishments of those trained in KCA/KMTI courses should be permanently recorded in the archives. |
|
Although the annual student and faculty lists of all who participated
in summer and academic year courses will be included in the archives,
only selected student folders (mostly those who actually earned a certificate or diploma)
will be included. |

We value our alumnae/i highly and will be interested in your lives for as long as KCA continues to exist. |
